PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has had preliminary discussions with SyFy officials concerning a possible re-branding of ECW in 2010.
At this point, it's being said that the main change will most likely be ridding the show of its "ECW" title, and possibly renaming it to something that would be more appropriate to a show that features up and coming talent.
The show would most likely change its look a bit as well, although for the most part it is expected to remain similar to the way it is now in terms of programming, focusing on new, up and coming talent who will later make the switch to either Raw or Smackdown.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment plans to fold the ECW brand late 2009/early 2010. Several ECW superstars are expected to be moved over to RAW or SmackDown.
The company are holding discussions with SyFy with the intention of re-branding the Tuesday show.

Wwe stars help collect toys for tots at Stamford eventSTAMFORD -- Bearing stuffed animals, a video game and a Monopoly board, Nicholas Fox said he had been waiting in line for three hours Monday for the chance to be face to face with the wrestling stars he had grown up watching on
television.
"I've been a wrestling fan since I was 7," said Fox, 24, of Greenwich. "These guys are really down-to-earth, and I'm glad they're doing this."
Fox was one of dozens who lined up hours in advance at Tommy K's Vitamins on Research Drive to meet seven stars from World Wrestling Entertainment. The event was a fundraiser for the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots charity drive hosted by the Stamford Police Department, Stamford Police Association, Tommy K's Vitamins and WWE.
Roland Udert, 42, drove to Stamford from Edison, N.J., for Monday's fundraiser, arriving at 2:30 p.m. in order to secure his place near the front of the line. He said he hoped to meet wrestler Tommy Dreamer, whom he has been watching on TV for "a long time."
"He's the innovator of violence," Udert said. "That was his moniker. Old school, hard core."
The WWE stars were driven up to the entrance of Tommy K's by Marines escorted by Stamford Police. The procession began about 6 p.m. Monday and included Humvees, a crane and a police armored personnel carrier, which carried WWE divas Maria, Tiffany and Beth Phoenix.
